A favourite quote from a friend,
Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure.
It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us.
We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, handsome, talented and fabulous?
Actually, who are you not to be?
You are a child of God.
Your playing small does not serve the world.
There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.
We were born to make manifest the glory of God within us.
It is not just in some; it is in everyone.
And, as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others.

Smiling
I am smiling today. Why? Because I can. I also got a manicure which was positively heavenly. I walked in the rain and I am wearing a new shirt. My dear friend who loves shopping came with me and waited while I tried on an obscene amount of clothing. Prior to this trip I had informed her that I really didn't like shopping. We were informed that pants have skinny legs now not tapered, either way they aren't going to be loving me. I did the wide hips with the skinny legs in the 80s/90s and well we ain't lookin' back baby.
Moving on...My roommates and I are going to cook together. I think it will work out. It will benefit us for our relationships and fill our bellies. It is amazing how little food you need when you eat at a table with friends.
Oh yes! Last night we put on some of our library CDs and danced to the African groove. We had an old friend over and when he heard the music he started grooving as well. So much fun dancing in your own home.
I am glad to be home.

Africa, the Bridge & ER
What to do, what to do? I am super excited to start my practicum at the Bridge on 20th. Working with Linda and the gang is going to be awesome. I am excited to figure out what God wants me to do there.
I have been thinking about Africa more lately, probably because one of the women I met up here is from Zambia. Two of her brother are touring around the US and Canada. However, in thinking about Africa I have been thinking about the role I could play with my nursing. The question than arises of how do i get the experience I need to do what I need to do. I was thinking about the ER. I would see a lot of things and learn a lot of things that would help me to deal with some of the emergencies I would encounter. If someone walks up to me with a knife wound I want to know what to do, if I encounter a sick child I want to know what to do. I guess I will start researching where I can learn what I need to learn. I would also like to learn more about AIDS and the drugs and care involved with caring for that population.
I have friends in Botswana right now and seeing their pictures make me want to go sooner than later. I told her I was coming next year. I am still planning on it.
I was listening to a sermon by Erwin McManus and he was talking about going unless you get a no. I like it.
So much excitement in life.

La Ronge
Ok so I was going to post pics of all those I love, but it is not meant to be. I am currently in La Ronge, SK doing my hospital practicum for my 4th year. After this I will work at the Bridge on 20th for 6 weeks, than one seminar for one day and than free of nursing school.
I went out for a little farewell with my dear friends Ninette and Sarah, and we saw Janelle, which was so funny for me because I know these ladies all in separate contexts.
I registered to vote by mail since I am working and not in S'toon till the 19th of October.
Thinkgs - definitions things I am thinking about:)
- where do I work after I am done and for how long??
-How would God have me pay off my student loan?
-What does is mean to be a member of the body of christ?
-If I moved north would I search out a traditional church or a house church?
-What should I eat?
-Why did I by briefs?:) oops, thought they were boy cut:)
-If I catch a fish will I be able to kill it? then how will I fillet it? aaaaaah! I should borrow a scalpel from the hospital?
-will I get to nap?
-?????????????

100!!!!
Well I missed day 100, but this is post 100. So I am out in windy Manitoba eating straw.
I have decided that more fiber in my diet was needed and this was the most practical way to achieve that goal. Actually I am building a straw-bale house with my sister and eating straw. We have most of the bales in and it is very neat to see.
Other things that are new. I will be heading to La Ronge in 2 weeks to live with Carrie for 6 weeks and work on my nursing practicum. WOW in 14 weeks w

...Simon just popped in for a visit. So I was just saying that in 14 weeks I will have completed my journey of nursing school! And then who knows what God holds for me. I am super excited to move on from school.
That's it for now. More later.

#99
That's write I am one away from having 100 posts, although at this rate I won't reach that till July or August. England was grand, so good to see Naomi and James. Went to Parilament had a hoot. Saw Florence Nightingale Museum, Phantom of the Opera, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, Stayed at Palmer's lodge(appropriate I think) and found Paddington Bear. Most things people just see but Paddington took me probably 2 hours to find. He was much smaller than i envisioned. I met wonderful people and people met wonderful me:) Here's a couple videos to satisfy curiosity till I write more.

Blessed!
I am just so blessed today. Blessed by realizing I have a new brother in Jesus. Blessed to hear health and restoration in the voices of two friends who have been ill for a long time, but Jesus is making them well. Blessed to have godly woman in my life to remind me that I am blessed and beautiful. Blessed to have a mother who gives me hope that God has a plan for me and that it is not so far away.(how does God measure distance, anyways, 28 years and counting) Blessed to have a roommate who cleaned our livingroom (Thanks Roxi). Blessed to have a roommate who throws her self to the ground in laughter, cause it makes it funnier. Blessed.
Are you blessed?
Oh yes I am also blessed to know that one day those whom I long to know and serve the Father will:) I have hope:)
